How do I get into video editing? – How To Video Yourself On Iphone

Video editing is as much a skill as learning a new instrument. It’s hard to pick the best course or program to tackle your video production. You may think video courses are hard to find, but even if they’re not, there are plenty of great courses online. A good place to begin is here.

How do you keep up with all the new technology emerging in the industry, including the iPhone in particular?

One great way to keep up with the latest technology is to watch some good video tutorials on YouTube. I usually watch a few videos a month from YouTube’s video library.

What are the best sites for editing your videos?

One of the best sites for video editing is Lynda helps you take everything that’s in your daily work and put all your ideas into one single online course — or even a series of shorter videos that you can share together. Lynda also has an excellent list of video tutorials you can use for free at their website.

I try to get as much use out of the videos available on these sites as possible. I’m always searching, taking notes, trying new things for a challenge. I’m always trying to improve my skills. It’s so difficult sometimes to find something good and practical to use in a video tutorial… So I always take advantage and put all my learning into something tangible that I can use. It makes a huge difference!

I often find inspiration when watching videos online. I’m constantly finding creative ideas for new projects. Sometimes I’ll find that something about a particular video tutorial on YouTube just looks amazing to put on my screen. It often inspires and makes me think even more. Sometimes, when I’m in the library reading a particular book, I’ll find some video tutorials that inspire me.

What advice would you give to aspiring video editors?

Don’t start out with editing tutorials you can only see online. Start small — try to use a program that people have already tried but haven’t had time to test the program out. In some cases, a video editing program will be an easy way to introduce yourself to the field. But if you can’t wait to try it out, consider attending a course or program that has you cover some material that you want to learn but you can’t find in your library of video tutorials, like video animation techniques, video editor training, video color and lighting editing and video production basics.
