Q: Hi, what are you doing this weekend?

A: I’m going back to college! I’m going to be a graphic designer.

Q: How long have you been doing this?

A: A bit over a year and a half.

Q: What were your goals for the next year?

A: My goals are a little different because I need to figure out what I’m going toward each time. Sometimes I have a vague vision, but it’s a lot more specific at other times. A couple years ago, I really wanted to find out what I wanted to do with my life, and I didn’t. I didn’t know what to do. I want to go do something. I have a lot of ideas of what to do, but not necessarily what to make. I’m always interested in working on a project, but I don’t know if my brain is right. Right now I’m doing things that I think are interesting, interesting, interesting. There’s a lot that goes into drawing.

For the first couple years out of school, I drew a lot of crap. I remember one time, I drew an old woman in a sweater. As a kid, those kind of things were just cool. I remember a teacher teaching me some stuff about being a teacher, and I thought it was a pretty cool idea. I thought I could make a life out of drawing the older lady. Then, I had this whole summer just drawn up everything. I remember this little bit of an idea, a drawing on a little yellow stationery, and I remember this little image was drawn on it for like a minute and a half and just kind of started going crazy. It was so bizarre. It was just really strange at the time, so I just drew it and kept on drawing it. Then, I knew what I wanted to do with my life, so I was just sitting there and drawing and drawing and drawing. It took a while to figure out what I was doing, but it was fun and it was relaxing.

Then, I went to another art class and got a little bit more training, and I just was never the same after that. I wanted to find something else in my life, and I knew I was still wanting to do it, but I needed guidance. I did a lot of research and found that Art History was an option for me, which was awesome because Art School
