You’ll have access to a lot of things on a digital format with the help of digital video hardware and software, and then maybe we will come up with a concept, like, for a music video that is totally different from what anyone else is making in terms of concept, what we want to do, what style we prefer. And you’ll be able to do it because you have a camera and you have a computer to get stuff done. You don’t have to go find somebody who doesn’t actually want to hire you to get things done. Like, “Oh, oh, I’ve got 10 days to get two million dollars out of you and I don’t have even an editor.” No one does that. It would cost a lot of money to hire somebody to do that. So it’s just for us, to show, let’s show you that in music video, the things you know about music video, like what camera, how do you shoot it?

Is that something you’d look for when you choose a producer, especially someone whose style you don’t have experience in?

Well, yeah—to show you that, when we’re shooting something, why would you need an editor? They can tell you how to shoot it, and they have cameras that shoot things, but at the end of the day, how you shoot it is the only thing that matters. You don’t need an editor. There are so many other things that you need to do. Even when we’re shooting in London, London doesn’t do anything wrong anymore, and it’ll work, and people are going to see it, and they’re going to like it, there’s no editing at all. I don’t know why, but people are going to like it, and because you have a camera, you can do it, but how you’re going to show the world what you have is so important.

Are those really digital photos that you shoot in a video set, or are you looking at pictures you take with your phone?

The photos are digital, because we all have phones. The photo-taking is not so great with phones today, but we’ll do what we have to do—and it’s a camera, not a phone—to make people understand what we’re doing.
