What makes a great one? If you were trying to pick a stock photo, these are the questions I would ask myself.

I use stock photos for almost everything. A website’s navigation is a stock photo, or a magazine’s homepage is, if it will be printed in the first place. When I do anything in Photoshop, I use stock images. In fact, if you look through my other Photoshop tutorials, you will see that if I do Photoshop work, it is primarily stock images. Photoshop is an amazing tool and you should be using it in all your projects, but it is not the only one that should be used. Your design work, your product photography, you can do a lot with the colors you put into your photos, the lighting that you have selected, and your composition. Just because you can, does not mean that you must.
