A bar is 16,768,320 total milliseconds.
Note this is the number of milliseconds that is used by both hardware and software together to calculate how much time you are “on” an audio track in software, or just in software when using an audio software tool called the Sound Lab.
Using these numbers and your ear, you know the exact amount of time you are “on” or “off” by listening to and using the software tools within the Sound Lab.
This is because the time in between when you heard a track begins to fade in, and when it fades out, can be measured exactly. A good method is to use a software program called Audacity, which can be downloaded from this link. Once Audacity is installed, start it, and start recording music.
When the “End of Track” (EoT) or “Stop Signal” (SS) signal starts to fade out, the number will be “zero.”
When the “BPM” signal starts to fade in, the number will be “+1.”
When the “BPM” signal starts to fade out, the number will be “0.”
At the beginning and end of each piece of music on a track, you can use the following “EoT” and “SS” indicator to determine just how loud your music is (the same way in Sound Lab when using a Sound Lab instrument or tool).
Once you have established where your EoT and SS indicators have started, it is time to determine how close you are to the end of a piece.
In Audacity, hold “Shift” and then use the “Record Playback” tool.
Set to “Low” on the “Stop Signal” (SS) gauge, and set the “Start Time” to “End Time.”
To determine how close you are, click at the beginning of your music on the “Start Time” gauge and then click somewhere that is far off from the beginning of your music on the “End Time.”
After the music fades in, try turning the “End Time” gauge “High”.
When you see the “End Time” gauge drop from “+1” to “-1”, it means that you are almost there!
Now we know the exact number of “on tracks” and “off tracks” on your audio track. We want to get as close to that number as possible, so that you can better know
