Is the answer a mystery. But to some, pole has been, and remains, an indispensable tool for moving to the other side of our existence and bringing ourselves back to the center of the universe.
I’m not talking about the Pole Dancing Queen. These people are as diverse as any kind of Pole, but they’re all the same thing — they push to the edge of the earth. Not quite as far as me. They’re a little higher than me, but not nearly as far as us. You know what happens when you try to come out of earth? When you push and pull away from the center of the universe, the poles and the Earth begin to lose their equilibrium and it’s almost as if we pull the earth toward us, or vice versa.
When two people try to go the other way — to get back to earth in one or the other direction — the poles and the Earth fall apart. Pole dancing is a very important part of human life, both spiritually and practically, and I wish we could find some way to balance this balance. We have come up with some pretty ingenious ways to keep this balance, and I’m certainly not suggesting that Pole dancing should be banned or discouraged. But we need to stop making these adjustments and learn to find ourselves again.
In Pole Dance, it’s not just about what’s happening on the pole. It’s about everything that happens on the pole. It’s the whole of humanity: the people who get together from all parts of the earth, the animals who work together, the humans who come together — the whole human race and all that comes with it — they share a common purpose and a common experience. Everyone is connected and they’re all part of one huge family.
When I first started dancing, I would look at this big family sitting together and think how wonderful it was to be a part of it. I loved the spirit of the family, and I was very proud to be part of it. It was what the Bible told me to do: to be part of God’s family. I was part of a family with such love, with such wisdom, with such patience, with such knowledge and courage. And I always used to look at all of these people as my people: in my heart, I love them too.
I remember a friend of mine from Germany, the young Pole, who asked me “Which is the mother of all Pole Dancing?” I told him she was Earth. Then I told him that the Earth belongs
