A woman has died after apparently being trapped by a collapsing crane lift on a roof of a residential building site in north Sydney.
Emergency services were called to the building site at 7 Glenlyon St at 9:35pm and found the woman trapped on top of the crane.
A crane operator used hand tools and lifting equipment to lift the woman from the top of the crane.
After the crane and her were removed, paramedics and emergency services were called to the scene.
A NSW Fire and Rescue spokesman said the victim would be rushed to St Vincent’s Hospital for further medical assessment.
A woman who lives at the scene of the collapse said she heard the noise of the crane on the roof above her at about 8.45pm. Her family, who were out of town at the time, were at the rooftop when the incident happened.
