You can legally feed and walk a total of four dogs at once, provided they’ve been microchipped. If your microchip contains an e-mail account, you must use it for a minimum of three days before a second “no-show” can take place.

Do you have to take your dogs with you to any other events?

Yes. When you register your dog at the event, you need to list your dog and a telephone number from where the event can be reached, and any additional events that you’re attending, and if any other dogs are participating. Dogs participating in events that are open only to participants without dogs can be in attendance in violation of these rules. To register your dog at another event, simply give their phone number and contact information in the event description text box at registration.

What if my dog becomes too aggressive? Can I stop going to events?

If your dog gets too aggressive, either within 24 hours and it makes you concerned, or a few weeks in advance, we recommend contacting us. We can work with you to set up a safe and appropriate course of action.

Are there any rules that apply to dogs that have been microchipped?

Your first offense for “possessing or using a microchip” is a misdemeanor with up to five days in jail and a $300 fine. Additionally, you will not be allowed to attend future events or receive reimbursement for the cost of the dog microchip, however you can attend the event you were previously registered at while you are under a court order to keep your dog’s ID tag. The event will be cancelled. Finally, we will have to ask that additional fees be paid for dog training services, grooming, vaccines for your dog, and all other applicable fees.

What about my right to not give a dog to someone else?

The dog and owner contract is written in such a way so as to allow for both. A non-paying “participant” owner of a microchip registered dog will still be able to keep the dog in the event and will not be charged fees, though our staff will ask you for money as a condition of volunteering at any event.
