All the above. You want to ensure your body responds to the same type of exercise, not just because it is good for you, you want the same response from your body. You need to eat right, sleep well, and have a regular routine to support that.
How do I go about getting the most out of my training?
Work smarter than you sleep. It is not what we do. It is what we think. If you are doing more than enough, then you are not doing enough.
How often should I train?
For optimal results, you need to train on a regular basis and on the days you choose, not every day. If you are working with people of other sports who will help you, get together once a week or month to train. It makes a huge difference.
What is a recovery session?
In the gym, you want to do as much as you can in a short amount of time. I use this as a recovery session because if we are working hard we want our muscles to feel like they are ready for another day’s work.
On off day we try to keep our muscles moving as much as our time allows. If we don’t get off the treadmill for 30 minutes after dinner, then it may be because we aren’t trying to be as strong as we can be at that time in the day.
What is a “healthy diet?”
If you are starting out, we recommend eating a balanced diet that includes protein, carbs and good fats. However, you can experiment with different diets and eat different foods while you are working out.
